Participating Mentors:

We need mentors who have professional/personal interests in providing life skills information and resources to students. Also share personal and professional life skills experience and resources to students and information in balancing family and career.

Description:

This is a new Telementor project in Family & Consumer Science. Students will learn how to balance personal and professional life by interviewing and reflecting with their mentor about specific work and family issues and topics. Also create a resource guide that students will use in order to balance their current and future work/study and personal life.

Teacher Role:

The teacher is the facillitator of the project. The teacher will communicate with mentors on a weekly basis regarding the project. The teacher is the final project evaluator input will be provided by mentor and student). The teacher will complete all other duties as required by the ITP.

Mentor Role:

To provide information to the student as requested by the teacher or student. To help students understand the importance of balancing work and family by providing resources and personal responses. To keep teacher informed when there is a problem or concern.
