Mentor Role: Mentor will provide guiding questions to make sure student is prepared and service project is well thought out and can be accomplished. Teacher Role: Provide support where needed. Choose the service project to move forward with as a whole class. Share with all mentors the final project. |

12 | Final Class Service Project is chosen after students present their individual project to the whole class, teacher, STEM coordinator, and Telementor representative. Non for profit roles are assigned to students (limit roles: communications/marketing, finance, board members/managers, outreach (who we are handing the project to after collection is complete?), CEO/winning SMART/service project, etc.) Student Role: Student will put chosen whole class service project into action. Students will define individual/team student roles (i.e. communication/marketing team, finance team, outreach team - those designated to hand off the project and anything collected to solve the social issue identified, etc.) in order to complete the service project. Student will learn and perform role designated to complete the class service project. Mentor Role: Provide clarification on how non-for-profit or social programs work and help decipher student role in the class. Mentor will check in with students on the progress of the project. If project role is not successful, mentor may provide ideas as to how the student can revise certain project aspects to get a more positive result. Teacher Role: Provide support where needed. Continue to guide and provide suggestions on how to proceed into the next phases. Communicate with mentors and students. |
