Please describe the best part of working on this project with your mentor.
She give me great feedback and is easy to work with.
I was able to know about my mentor as well as certain aspects that I can improve on that will help me in future projects.
The best part of working on this project with a mentor is the great constructive criticism.
The best part was getting to do it over The Tattooed Dog, and getting advice of what I could do to help improve the business.
Being able to have the outside help
She helped me revise my project and gave me a better idea on what areas I should focus on.
The best part about working with my mentor was getting great feedback and input on our papers.
My mentor was really understanding and helped me a lot with everything.
she was very helpful and had great ideas
My mentor was very helpful and I really enjoyed the process of working with her and seeing my project develop.
In all honesty, I wish I would've received more feedback. But, the information i had received was helpful.
The advice they would give me when I wasn't sure of something.
Omar was always prompt with his responses and offered suggestions and feedback far beyond what was expected. Omar's original ideas and feedback proved to be immensely beneficial throughout the process, and he remained kind and courteous throughout. I cannot express enough how many of Omar's promotional ideas were innovative, insightful, and precisely what I was looking for.
My mentor was very prompt with his responses and always offered some type of advice for my project.
giving advice
the more experienced view with on our project
Having the ability to work with someone in a professional work place to edit and make great suggestions.
I always enjoyed the feedback Serena gave my partners and I. I have always appreciated people being harder on my paper in hopes of bettering them. Serena was no different, except for the fact that she said everything with genuine care.
My favorite part of working with my mentor is that I got real feedback from him and I felt comfortable asking for help.
Please share any other academic areas where you'd like to receive help from a mentor.
I struggle in algebra 2 it would be great if I had help in that class

At the moment none of my other classes need or require a mentor.

General English writing.
I do not need any help.
It would be great to have a math mentor that could give additional feedback and help other than your teacher.
I think English and math would be good subjects to have a mentor for, sometimes receive more help with

Help in English would help, like on essays and such. +
Although it is likely improbable to ever happen, I would love to receive mentoring for college purposes. Even though my school has a college counselor, she was completely unaware of how to apply to top schools like Notre Dame and Princeton, and a service to help students find colleges that match their academic histories as well as interests would be so helpful throughout the already stressful process. Hopefully I answered this question according to what you would have liked.
Possibly math
math
Possibly in science. Getting assistance in Physics might be helpful throughout the year.
I received motivation with all my classes from my mentor. i would tell Serena that I had a math test for example she would instantly say that I will do great and should strive for a greater future.
A mentor would help a lot with any subject that includes a large project.
What advice would you give your mentor as he or she works with a new student?
Its nice when you send me positive messages about working hard I would keep it up.
Keep on doing what you are doing, the student receiving the help my not know how much you are doing for them, until they finish the project and understand how much you have helped them.
My advice would be to continue on being a great mentor with quick responses.
Give better advice. Try to stay on topic.
Keep up the good work with the responses, but possibly closer the end of the project push them a little more/
I would say to be blunt. What i mean by that is no to sugar coat things because even if we do bad, it will help are overall grade.
The only advice that I would give is to check up more on the messages but I understand that they are busy
Just keep on doing what you're doing.
keep up the good work
none
Communication is KEY! Advice I would give to my mentor is to better their communication with anyone they may mentor in the near future and getting back faster when someone needs advice or help.
to ask them more questions, so they will stay on topic and more focused
Keep doing what you're doing.
Keep doing what you're doing, Omar. I appreciated your genuine thought and effort you put into helping me and I believe you helped me improve my project.
Make sure to give plenty of criticism and don't be modest with suggestions.
do exactly what she did. she was very nice and helpful.
Just make sure to continue sending great advice and maybe respond just a little sooner.
If I were to give any advice I would say to keep doing exactly what you keep doing! :)
If I had to give my mentor advice I'd say to ask more about the project. He did a good job at letting me know he was available if I needed help, but it would have been nice to have a little more accountability as well.

Would you be interested in receiving mentoring support from professionals in the future?
1 - No
19 - Yes
Please describe why or why not.
I like getting advice
I may need guidance further down the road on another project or class that I may need help with for a better understanding.
Mentors from professionals would benefit be throughout the start of my career.
Yes, because having someone else look over my work to give me advice on what I could do better.
Outside help really opens up your opportunities.
yes, because there independent and can give a different view on things through their experience.
I would like to receive mentoring in the future because they are great help and give great feedback.
Yes because it's nice to have a third party look over my assignments and help me better my work and myself as a student.
it was very helpful
Because it was a great experience.
Depending on the mentor, they can be very helpful in multiple aspects.
yes, because I enjoy hearing other peoples input
Yes I would like to receive help in the future because the mentor knew what he was talking about, and wanted to help me get better in my subject.
Extremely helpful and aided me in completing my project.
I would be interested in continued mentoring support because working with professionals can help to get more of a real world input on the work, rather than something straight out of a text book.
this time I want to be more involved
because it was very beneficial
Because they are great additional support for a long-term project.
I enjoyed being able to easily communicate on all aspects with my Mentor. My mentor was very supportive and always encouraged me while giving insightful feedback.
I would love to have support later to help with papers or projects. I am one to like to ask for help or a second opinion and a mentor who kind of knows what they're talking about would be nice.

Please describe the most difficult parts of working on this project with your mentor.
Figuring the website out but after i figured it out it was easy
The most difficult part about working on this project with my mentor, was only being able to communicate through text, it was hard to put all of the information through text.
The most difficult part is making sure you are communicating.
My mentor helped a lot, but we seemed to disagree on a lot of things.
Sometimes not always understanding what they are saying or not always agreeing.
The fact that I could not talk to my mentor face to face.
The most difficult part was not getting feedback within the next day or so.
The most difficult part for me personally, would be opening up and sharing my project with the mentor. I'm the type of person who's not only scared to ask for help and avoids asking as much as possible - depending on what school subject, but the type of person that doesn't always want help. I like things to go and be done a certain way and if it doesn't go as planned, it bothers me.. kind of like a "my way or the highway" thing, haha. So, the most difficult part of working on the project with a mentor wasn't on anyone but me.
wouldn't get direct feedback
Making sure to touch base with my mentor twice a week.
Communication was difficult
the lack of communication I would get sometimes
All of our projects were done using google drive, but fir mentored pathways it was better to upload them as a word documents, so changing between the two was kind of annoying.
Figuring out how to check the corrections my mentor made to my project as well as uploading my own work.
The most difficult part was remembering to contact mentor
Trying to be on the same time
keeping up with each other
The time to respond because I only had time during class to work on the project for a long period of time.
Sometimes was difficult to upload the project and view the comments because in our school we used google drive for everything and had to switch our project over to word format.
The only thing was making some of the deadlines, but that has nothing to do with the actual program. :)
Did we miss something? If so, please share any additional comments you might have about your experience in the program.
No. It overall was good.

I thought over all it was a good program, but I think it is important to always have your mentor email you back no matter what
Omar was amazing.
Serena is an amazing mentor and I would recommend this program in the sole hope that someone else could work with her. At the beginning of this program I was wary of the idea of working with someone who might not care about my project, however, without Serena my project wouldn't be what it is today. Serena is an amazing individual with a hard work ethic who had a lasting impact on this project. Thank you so so much for hiring people as dedicated as her to work with high school students she would never meet. I will never forget the work she has out into this project and making me feel comfortable with talking to her.
