Please describe the best part of working on this project with your mentor.
I would say the best part about working with my mentor was getting a fresh perspective from a member of the engineering community.
Having the advice of someone who is in designing.
He had a lot of great suggestions and provide guidance when we needed it most.
seeing data come back that was true to what i thought it would be
It pushed me to do more.
Discussing the specifics of the projects, and bouncing ideas back and forth.
The best part of this project was receiving professional feedback I know I could rely on.
Please share any other academic areas where you'd like to receive help from a mentor.
I don't think that I would need a mentor in another area. This project is the only thing in high school that really requires outside support and outside of the classroom work.
i cant think of any other areas
None Currently
no real academic it would have been nice to have help in building
Nothing I felt it was good.
Engineering classes are the best to receive help from a mentor, but I imagine they would be quite helpful in some of the more difficult math courses (as they could help individual students improve particular skills that they do not perform as well in).
None really. Engineering is where I truly see the mentor system being helpful because it is closer than most subjects to a real life career environment.
What advice would you give your mentor as he or she works with a new student?
I would just say to keep up the good work, and be understanding if the student doesn't articulate ideas completely like I sometimes did.
none she was a great mentor
be a good sounding board
nothing i think he did a good job working with me
Keep doing what your doing.
The collaboration that my mentor and I had was quite good, so I would say that maintaining good, clear communication is by far the most important thing. If both student and mentor fully understand the situation, they can help each other death with problems that arise much more quickly.
Just make sure that you communicate frequently and inspire your student. Analytic mentoring is great, but sometimes conceptual/design oriented motivation is what's needed.

Would you be interested in receiving mentoring support from professionals in the future?
1 - No
6 - Yes
Please describe why or why not.
I would, but it would depend on the type of work I am doing. Mentoring should be reserved for projects where it is necessary and needed only.
just to have more advice in an area i may not be experienced in
It was a nice thing to have
because i will be a professional in the near future with some luck they will be my equals
For large projects, it's helpful.
I will be moving on to a future in the engineering field, and as I had said before, the assistance of an experienced mentor makes handling engineering endeavors much easier.
It could be a very helpful connection to the professional world, as well as a resource for engineering guidance.

Please describe the most difficult parts of working on this project with your mentor.
The most difficult part was making sure my mentor was on the same page as me.
not being able to directly speak with them, having to wait a day before seeing their response
Communication
i am not the best with computers so sending pics and things where difficult
I don't feel like anything was difficult other than budgeting time.
Describing the project was (initially) difficult, mostly due to communication restrictions. Being able to upload or send images directly would make it easier to show mentors exactly what one plans on building in the future.
The hardest part was coming up with topics so that I could frequently communicate with my mentor, as enforced by my teacher. Sometimes there was nothing to be said, and in that case, I wish my mentor would have just spoken up and started helpful conversation.
Did we miss something? If so, please share any additional comments you might have about your experience in the program.
No.

nothing

You missed nothing.
Nope. Aside from not being able to upload or send images directly, there is not anything I would change. Once the ideas behind the project were communicated, the back-and- forth was both speedy and informative.
Nope, it was a great experience, and I am very thankful!
