Please describe the best part of working on this project with your mentor.
I think the best part was being mentored by someone wonderful. As well as learning and growing as a person
My mentor was very helpful, she had a lot of input, advise and information to give me.
The best part was that my mentor was able to get some responses from the experts that I emailed.
The best part of working with my mentor was being able to get feedback from her on my work.
I was able to get a lot of feedback on my project and writing skills.
There was no best part this project was horrible.
Being able to communicate with someone who knows a lot about your project.
The best part of working with a mentor during this project was getting feedback from a person who has more information than we have access to.
I loved my mentor, she gave me great advice and gave me wonderful ideas I would not have thought of.
Being able to meet many professional and learning valuable information .
Able to work with someone that you don't know and that lives very far away.
There wasn't a best part.
The best part of the project was engaging with my mentor by sharing information with each other to develop a great understanding of the topic.
I appreciated the fact that my mentor and I were able to relate each other and the friendship we developed.
The best part of working with my mentor is learning how to be confident and aggressive at seeking opportunities.
There was nothing good about working with my mentor. She didnt help me gain any new information I couldnt have found on my own. All I can say is that she was kind and replied to emails quickly.
I got to communicate with a person who has a different life style and got to know them on a personal level and was able to share ideas and collaborate.
I think that the best part of working with this program was that I was able to connect with my mentor on a high level because we were able to write personal statements and they were able to se elect us.
The best part about working with my mentor, Scott, was connecting to him on a deeper level. through this he was able to truely be a mentor of mine.
Please share any other academic areas where you'd like to receive help from a mentor.
I think other subjects I love getting mentored would be math and chemistry
I don't think I need any other academic areas in which I would need a mentor to help me.
Other academic areas I would like to receive help from my mentor would be math, science, or English.
I would like to receive help from a future mentor in my writing.
I do not wish to get help from a mentor anymore.
Math, grammar
I'd like to receive more help in the actual working of the project, more ideas being shared between the two of us.
Mathematics, since I struggle with this subject the most.
Probably more support, or maybe just have a mentor that lives close to you.
Do not want help from a mentor.
None, Science is the only beneficial field.
N/A
I dont think I need help in other academic areas. I am striving where I am.
I dont want any academic help from my mentor. Im in a high school surrounded by certified teachers who are more than happy to help me.
I would like to receive just advice in life experiences.
I think that it would have been more beneficial if the project was more centered around our future goals. Also I think that it would have been better if the mentors were specialized in the project topic.
What advice would you give your mentor as he or she works with a new student?
Well I think that she is a great mentor who doesn't need to improve.
Be willing and very patient with the student, because they may be slow to do some things and forget about others. Give them options, just not too many so that they don't have too much to choose from.
I would advice her to respond to her student as frequently as she could, like she did with me, and to help the student to the best of her ability.
My mentor was great to me and I don't feel like she needs to improve in anything. We had great communication with one another and she helped all throughout this project. Just to let you know it was Lynn.
Honestly, I wouldn't give my mentor any advice. I had a great mentor, and I felt he did a great job.
I hope it works better for your next student it didnt really work for me.
Communicate often and try to be as involved as possible with the student's project.
For my mentor, I would suggest informing a student as soon as possible if a complication with health arises, and not leave her student hanging in the blue, perhaps mentioning her illness/health obstacle ahead of time would give a student more confidencein responding to messages that were never sent.
I have nothing to suggest, my mentor was amazing.
Nothing, she gives great tips and helped me very much
To do the things they are supposed to do and be sophisticated.
I would say that my mentor should keep up the good work and stick with being engaging and helpful like they were.
My mentor did such a good job that there's no advice I could have given him to improve how he did.
Question the work of the student more, it will help the student see errors and help him revise.
I would advise mentors not to constantly email their students. The constant nagging will make the student look at their mentor in a negative manner.
Keep doing what your doing. You are an amazing help!
Keep doing what your doing because my experience with you was amazing:)
I would advise him to continue finding students he is led to by faith, wether it be theirs or his willl to share.

Would you be interested in receiving mentoring support from professionals in the future?
4 - No
15 - Yes
Please describe why or why not.
I would because it's a wonderful experience and it helps me learn and grow as a person and student
Yes, a mentor can put you in contact with important people that could help you with a research paper or project.
I would be interesting in receiving mentoring support from professionals in the future because it would be great help.
online contact does not help whats so ever, only one on one contact would have helped.
It's important to have someone who knows more about what you want to do as a career choice to help you succeed.
I would, but I would prefer the ability to have more face to face contact. A website just doesn't provide the same, shall we say, opportunity.
For this certain project I would not really benefit from a mentor unless they lived in the area I did, so they could understand the demographics needed for the project.
Yes because my mentor was very helpful .
It's helps you a lot, you get a good understanding with a professional
Waste of time.
Yes the mentor I had was very engaging and supporting.
I think that the time I spent messaging my mentor wasn't necessarily worth the help I received.
Yes, because it will help prepare me for the future.
The mentor I received didnt have the knowledge to help me with the project. I did most of my research online, as did my mentor, and the most useful information I received was from members in my community.
I feel they will help me make better decisions.
Hopefully it will be improved by the next time I use it!
The opportunity to grow with a professional is not an opportunity to pass up, for they have years and experienced wisdom to offer.
Was this the first time you've been part of a formal mentoring program?

Please describe the most difficult parts of working on this project with your mentor.
The most difficult part was constantly communicating due to my scheduele
My mentor was very easy-going, it was more me having to remember to upload and message my mentor to keep her updated on what was going on.
The fact that my mentor had to leave at points and I couldn't communicate with her for long periods of time.
The most difficult part in working with this project with my mentor was communicating because I didn't really like to message twice a week or more.
The most difficult parts on working with the mentor would be nothing. My mentor did an awesome job!
the whole project
Coming up with new subjects to talk about.
The lack of communication on a regular basis.
The most difficult part was communication on my part, I was always really busy and had a hard time communicating regularly.
There was no difficulties
Trying to work as a team, and try to communicate
All of it.
The website itself is completely broken. Signing in, uploading, and even sending a simple message is so frustrating that it makes the point of the site worthless.
Keeping up in conversation with my mentor.
There was no problems. Communication went fluidly, my mentor was perfect in finding solutions.
The most difficult part of working with my mentor is the fact she didnt have the knowledge to help me with my project and the constant emails made me feel like she was trying to be my mother. I am quiet capable of sitting online and doing my own research without a "mentor" in a different location.
We were not able to meet and have local support.
I think that the limitation of communicating only on the tele-mentoring cite made it far more difficult. If it was at all possible to make it more convenient, then I would suggest to make that change!
The most difficult point was when Scott and I began to bicker over on piece, and I (in my own stubborn will) turned away from him. I began to make this project my own.
Did we miss something? If so, please share any additional comments you might have about your experience in the program.
No you guys didn't miss anything
I do not have any additional comments.
My experience in this program was overall indifferent. I enjoyed it at points, but for the most part it didn't affect me at all.
No you didn't miss anything.
I thought the program was really great. I was able to get a lot from this experience. Although I though we were going to be paired with someone who shared the same interest as we did and where in the medical field. But other than that it was a great program.

No, everything went okay
Not a good program at all.
THIS IS THE WORST SITE I HAVE EVER USED IN MY LIFE.......................................! There are not words to express my frustrations with this so called "Website". I suggest that you not automatically refresh the pages so that information that was so time consumingly written is not wiped because the creators of site spent so little time coding it. Not to mention that you are unable to upload from universally any site which makes uploading extremely inconvenient, especially in a current generation where technology has moved forward so tremendously. I am very disappointed in the design of the site it is very poor and looks like it was designed in 5 min.
