Please describe the best part of working on this project with your mentor.
She always gave good advice.
The best part was when we had really fun conversations. It was so fun!!!!!
The best part of working on this project with a mentor and getting to know more about hydroelectricity.
The best part with working with my mentor was that she always pushed me to think deeper. When I needed help she wanted to know what I think I should do and we would go from there. She didn't just give me an answer.
Being able to get support and get to talk with my mentor about stuff outside the project like how we're doing.
The best part was typing to my mentor and in general it was just fun.
I think the best part of the project was the whole idea. I loved how my mentor and I got to communicate over email. I also loved making my survey and working on the presentation and presenting it.
The best part of working on this project with my mentor was that she really helped me think deeper about it and how it could affect others.
I learned a lot about my passion and learned how to make a good email. It was also really fun.
I think that the best part of working on this project with my mentor was being able to talk to each other and connect as well as learn more together. I loved being able to hear all the great ideas and using them. It was all so fun and cool.
The best part of working on this project with my mentor was probably getting to know each other to where we felt like we've known each other for our whole lives. Also figuring out more about the architecture in Paris, France.
The best part of working with my mentor was knowing that you had someone there to help.
I think that the best parts were emailing back and forth, because it was so much fun to write an email, the process of it was interesting. I also think that sending the survey was fun because you could send it, and the joy of getting your results was priceless.
the best part about this project was all the help from my mentor, and all the fun I had with it. It was really fun to communicate with a mentor through email.
I really enjoyed finding out about if whirling disease could get in to other animals that ate trout.
I think the best part was how I was learning things daily.
The best part of this project was that we got a topic of our choice, and we got a mentor that can relate to that problem.
The best part was getting to know my telementor and relate with him.
I think the best part was emailing and getting to research a topic of our choice and tell them a little bit about our personal life.
The best part of working on my project with my mentor(s) is all the great advice they gave me. When i had trouble with things like finding experts they always helped me.
The best part of this project with my mentor is all of the advice she gave me. Her advice that she gave me in my emails helped me a lot. When I was stuck on a problem of part of the project she would always be there to help me. Anand would always give me questions to help me improve.
The beat part was that he was there to answer my emails and help me with various things. Also he got me one of the greatest experts I could have asked for, the head scout for the Philadelphia 76ers.
In by opinion the best part of working on this project with my mentor was being able to collaborate with a actual person and get feed back. It really helped me stay focused on the project and have some fun while doing it.
How we could joke around, and communicate in a fun way.
I think the best part was having a person to communicate with about all my thoughts and interesting facts I researched/found.
The best part was that we got to talk in email and I personal think that is awesome.
the best part about working on my research and having some help me that i know she will help me
The part where I emailed her how I did on my project.
Honestly I loved communicating with my mentor and sending email back and forth. It really makes you feel good when you send an email and get a response within a 3 hour time period.

Please share any other academic areas where you'd like to receive help from a mentor.
Honestly, I don't know.
I wish i could learn more about the soccer player messi.
It would be fun to learn about sports for the project.
I would like to receive help in how do make programs for smart phones. My dad is a computer programmer and what he does is super cool and I want to be able to do what he does. I would also like a mentors help on how to stop global warming. I want my sons and daughters to live in a clean environment.
I'd like help with accomplishing my goal of learning how to do very advanced math for my age.
my mentor was awesome, he helped me so much and gave me a tone of useful information and some cool web sights. Now back to the question I would loved to look for some interactive programs for my topic.
There is not another area where I would like to receive help from a mentor right now.
I think I would definitely want to do this project again, because it really helped me organize my project and take it step by step.
In Greek Mythology.
An academic I would like to receive help from a mentor is soccer because I have a big interest in it and I would love to learn more about the sport that I play.
Another academic area that I would want to receive help from a mentor would probably be dance because I don't know much about it. I practice it a lot at my house but I don't actually attend a real dance studio where I could learn some common dance moves that are mainly used in dance. Also I would like to receive help from a mentor on soccer.
Zoology, zoology is something that is a little bit interesting to me. I think that this topic is interesting because I love animals and want to learn more about them and their habits.
I would like to receive help from a mentor in homeroom. It would be something fun that everyone could do, and you could do the project on any topic that you want.
I think it would be really cool for me to have a mentor for gymnastics. I would like to have one that is a gymnast so they can help me become better.
I would really enjoy having a mentor in sience because I really have been really interested sence I was a little kid.
I would like to learn more about two things. One,how to be and get better at snowboarding. Also, how can snowboards and snowboard equipment can get better?
I think that this would be a good summer program that helps kids keep an interest in school while having fun with learning about something that they love during there summer break.
I would also like to receive a telementor on learning more about cheer and how to get more flexible.
I would like to learn more about the history of soccer because my family has been playing this sport for years and like to play it to.
Other academic areas I would like to receive are other parts of the brain like the parietal cortex.
I would like to go more into the camera, because I want to know who invented the first colored camera. Overall, I think that the camera is the most important part of my whole topic.
Music because I have always been interested in music.
I would like to have help probably in learning about a subject I have a hard time in. If I had a mentor for that then I would be able to improve on that.
Maybe if I was doing any other big presentation in my future.
I want to learn more about fashion now even though I now a lot on it all ready.
*trains *snowboarding *long boards *boats *lacrosse
I would like to receive help in math, even though I don't need it. But I am sure they could teach me new tricks.
I might like a mentor in studying the Japanese language and culture. The Japanese have always interested me with their complex culture and language.

What advice would you give your mentor as he or she works with a new student?
Keep it up!
To email them as fast as you can.
He should just do what he has already been doing.
I would tell her to push them as much as possible and make sure they are getting deeper in what they want to explored. I loved how she did that for me so I want her to keep it up.
I have no advice to give.
Maybe persuade them a little more because I was off topic sometimes and I needed a little help and he helped me but if he would have pushed me a little more that would of gotten me going more.
My mentoring experience was so amazing and that my mentor was helpful and awesome that I don't have any advice
I would tell my mentor to make the next kid who does it explain and think deep.
At first it might be hard to understand what they need to do since the email from the student can be confusing but they become more specific as the project progresses
Well I would say keep doing what your doing because I think she did an awesome job at mentoring but I would like her to maybe explain her thinking a bit better but she even does a pretty good job of that!
I would give my mentor the advice to become a friend with that new student that they are working with so that the student can really express themselves in their emails so that their mentor can know how they can help.
Maybe he could try writing things from an 11 year old's perspective or what ever age his student is so that they will understand more of what he means when he writes an email back to his student.
I would tell her to maybe check her email more often, because she didn't email me as much as she could have. Other than that, she did a fabulous job mentoring me.
I would tell my mentor to maybe focus on helping the kid more with their topic instead of just letting them know their errors.
I would tell my mentor to explain and show there topic to there student. That could help because they could get there topic a lot more and like to do there project more.
The advice that I will give Emily is to keep doing what she is doing.
I would say that that a mentor should be willing to work with kids that sometimes will have a hard time keeping up with every thing, and the mentor needs to push them, but not to hard. Also a mentor needs to be patient no matter what.I feel like my mentor did a great job with all of these things.
I would tell him nothing because he did everything and more then what I was looking for.
It would be a little more helpful if you could be more descriptive but otherwise my mentor was great.
I would give my first mentor Gina the advice to email once or twice a week. I think my second mentor Audrey is doing a great job.
I woul give Anand advice on having longer messages because sometimes I wouldnt know what to say on the new mesesage to her. But overall be nice give them advice.
I think he could check his email more because sometimes I wouldn't get emails back for 5 to 6 days at a time.
I would tell the mentor to introduce themselves then tell the student about what they like to do and why they chose to be their mentor including there background on the topic.
Do the same thing
I think they should continue to have great communication with the student.
I would give them the active to email every day if they have time because it is fun to talk to some one even if not in person. :)
i would tell her she is doing a great job and there is really nothing to improve
I don't know
If a student asks for help, give them it ASAP. My mentor did a good job at this and it really helped me with my project.

Would you be interested in receiving mentoring support from professionals in the future?
6 - No
23 - Yes

Please describe why or why not.
Well, to be honest, I'm a very social girl and I usually want a few mentors in my life.
I like doing stuff on my own
No, because I didn't really like it.
I would like help in some areas but also like to do projects individual. I like having a mentor because I get two opinions.
I would because getting to the point were I can do college math before 7th grade ends is very important to me.
I would love having another professional mentor because he taught me so much and I it makes me feel good.
This experience was very good but normally I prefer to work by my self.
Yes, definitely it helped me so much and I couldn't have probably did this project without Melanie
I would like more support in the future especially in math and I also want to continue learning about Cancer and the different oncologists in general and how to become one.
I would because I learned a lot from this and I thought it was so cool and a fun way to learn and I think it would be even better if it was with real professionals that have experience from mentoring already.
Yes. I think that it would be great to receive mentoring help from professionals in the future because then I could really learn a lot about a certain topic I am interested in
Yes, because I love the support and help that I get, but the only thing I would wish to have is a mentor that was more interested and involved in my topic.
I would be very interested in getting more help, because it definitely takes some stress away from you. Also, it is just a fun process overall.
yes, because if I needed help on say, a science project and I needed more/ better information it would help to have a professional mentor.
I liked how he would help me and be there to build me up. Also he allways new what he was talking about.
I would because it is very helpful and it is fun.
I feel like kids should have the support from somebody that they knows "knows their stuff." I also think that it is fun to be able to talk with somebody who has gone through the same things I am going through, and I feel like Telementor is a great thing for that.
I would because they would give me everything that I would need to have to start and finish my project.
I would not like to not receive help from a mentor because I want to try to do things on my own after being helped a lot because now i know how to plan ahead and take things one step at a time.
I selected yes because it is a great opportunity to have a mentor to give you that extra advice that you need.
Well because I think it would be really cool to have a professinal because It would help me a lot
So I can learn more about what I want to and excel in like music, sports. And help me in other areas like reading/writing.
I would because it helps me focus and learn more. It definitely increased my skills that will help me in life and with the help of a mentor I can get almost immediate feedback on research, ideas and other work in general. Also, it would definitely increase the quality of my work due to all of the reasons above.
Well for me it would be no because I enjoyed it, but it was a lot of really hard work, but the main reason is, I would rather work alone.
Yes because in my opinion I work better when I can collaborate with an educated mentor that I can receive not just help from, but a second opinion on how I can change and improve my work, through the process of a project.
I would because I think I do better when some one help guide me in the right detection. :)
i would like to have some mentoring from a professional because they will be able to make me go to a deeper level then what i am at right now.
To learn more than my teachers can teach me
Even though I enjoyed this process, I still want to work on project on my own because it give me a feel that this is my work, and my work alone, and I am proud of it

Please describe the most difficult parts of working on this project with your mentor.
Nothing was difficult when it came to working with her!
Sending 2 emails a weak.
Getting myself to do the work that was required.
The most difficult part was when she had work to do and didn't have time to answer my emails. I understand that she was volunteering her time it was only when I had some important questions and she couldn't get back to me.
The most difficult part was getting the info I need to put together my stuff.
I would say that one of the most difficult parts was trying to get my parents to take me to the car dealer-ships and it didn't work any way.
I think the most difficult part was getting 2 emails to my mentor a week.
The most difficult part in this project for me was surprisingly finding a timeline on when all the different dances were made.
It was hard to understand what my mentor meant sometimes though when I told him I didn't understand he sent back right away and made it clearer.
I think the most difficult part of this project was finding all the correct information and write it all down so you remember it all.
I think the most difficult part of this project was probably finding experts to survey but in the end it all turned out great.
The most difficult part for me was getting help from my mentor because he didn't seem to know much about my topic.
One of the most difficult parts was emailing my mentor because she didn't email me as often as other mentors. Also, I would have to read over my email multiple times to double check my spelling.
probably the most difficult thing was, when you needed your information, and your mentor and your self aren't emailing back enough so you get a little behide
I think the most difficult part was to find good experts that new about whirling disease.
Sometimes it was hard to communicate.
The most difficult thing was that we could not talk face to face, and that it is all on line, and sometimes that makes it hard to get a point across. I think that something like a phone call would be extremely helpful.
I think the hardest part was researching everything on your topic.
I did not like my dad believes that high school teachers are looking for students that go above and beyond and he made me write two 300 word emails a week.
The difficult parts of working with my mentor are that she didn't always email me back when I needed the help.
The most difficult part was the end doing my presentation.
Finding experts was very hard because no one would answer our cover letter.
I'd say the most difficult parts were starting on the presentation and deciding what to make the presentation on. Also sifting through the info a found to decide what I thought was truly good info.
How sometimes she would not respond when I really needed it.
I think it was only difficult when I sent an email and my mentor couldn't respond for awhile based on there schedule, other than that we had solid helpful communication.
It was difficult because we were both busy, so sometime we could send an email right away.
i think the most difficult part was research.
making long emails
By far finding experts and getting survey responses. This took me and my mentor about 2 months to complete.

Presenting this in front of a room full of people can be very nerve racking so maybe you could find a way to make this less scary.
