Please describe the best part of working on this project with your mentor.
Researching ongoing projects
I didn't really have a favorite part, because all of it was fun.
My mentor was very friendly and helpful when asked.
I go to learn things that really gave me some real direction.
The ability to get a glimpse on how to achieve my future goals.
My mentor was very supportive in the project, and having him there for help was incredible. He shared his life story, which really helped. He warned me not to make mistakes that he did, he told me what fulfilled him in life, it gave the goal of this project an example to show why things worked.
Please share any other academic areas where you'd like to receive help from a mentor.
Physics and computers in general.
Nothing my mentor helped with everything I wanted help with.
One thing i think that teachers and schools don't help with is searching for colleges and future jobs.
I'd like to receive connection-making skills.
English would be nice, I'm not too hot with English and essay composition.
What advice would you give your mentor as he or she works with a new student?
Next time, start by hunting down preexisting interviews, just in case nobody can be found
I don't really have any advice for my mentor, because he did perfectly.
Nothing I thought he was very friendly and helpful.
Hold them to messaging back every week.
Always stay positive.
Try to take it to the next level. Only advice seems a bit shallow. Going out and actually connecting to the industry, that will really get the student interested.

Would you be interested in receiving mentoring support from professionals in the future?
2 - No
4 - Yes
Please describe why or why not.
Depends on what I'm doing, but it would be nice to have someone else to guide me through what I need to know
It really all depends on certain things, like what will the support be for, or are there deadlines or due dates.
I found I have already gotten out of the program what I wanted.
It was difficult to find the information that was asked for.
Because there are certain things that an individual can't prepare for on their own.
It is a good program, and the more of a link I can get with careers in my industry, the better.

Please describe the most difficult parts of working on this project with your mentor.
Finding people willing to give interviews
The most difficult part of working on this project was keeping up with the deadlines and project steps.
Remembering to contact my mentor.
Lining up our schedules.
Trying to bring it all together.
The distance. It feels like they can only help in theory, playing the intermediate between us and professionals that can really help us. It seems like mentors are limited. They can only give out advice, not provide the depth that is required in the next step, like actually helping find internship opportunities, vouching for the student, that type of deal. I feel like to really build the network encouraged by the program, you need someone who wants to start a network with you, and they can't do that from the sideline.
Did we miss something? If so, please share any additional comments you might have about your experience in the program.

I think that this program is a great opportunity for students, and I want to thank all the mentors for taking the time to do this.

I think it was a good idea but there were some execution.
Great job.
I feel like the website needs a bit of tailoring. The messaging page is a bit unfriendly, and honestly feels outdated. If this really is the sleek, new idea that industry is looking for, make it look that way, play the part. Text messaging gives instant feedback for when you receive a message, which is why students use that over email, postal service, etc. This website needs to mimic that, otherwise students will not message their mentor back. It is not enough to count on the student.
