Please describe the best part of working on this project with your mentor.
The best of working with my mentor on this project was how much fun it is to talk to real people and that is something is school that you don't get a chance to experience that until high school or college.
The best part of working with my mentor was all the advice I got for my website. I learned a lot!
The best part of this telementor project was when I got to pick what I wanted to do my project on, because it's fun working on a project that I chose.
The best part was sharing ideas with Grace, and having progress. The entire experience was very positive for me.
I loved learning about coral bleaching and I was glad I could help save the coral reefs. I also liked learning how to communicate better with other people when you are working on a project with them and to tell them what I am working on for that project.
The best part of working with my mentor was getting to communicate with a new person I don't talk to every day. Kind of like email.
The best of working on this project with my mentor was being able to have another person help me and give me advise. This way I was able to make my project better.
Th best part of this project was that my project wa about game making.
My mentor was there to give me feed back on my reflect journal
I was never alone to come up with ideas. My mentor was always some one I could ask if I didn't get something or needed help. He helped me find great resources that helped move the project along.
The best part of working with my telementor project with my mentor was that he really gave me great comments and praise when I got something that was urgent done as soon as I could.
The best part about working with my mentor is that I was not just helping my self but helping others too.
I liked having a mentor to so I could talk to them and they could give me some advice. It also helped working with a mentor because the mentor could do things that I could not do.
Getting to work on something that I want to do because I never got that chance in elementary school, it was always what the teachers wanted us to do, they never let us have a our own freedom with something that we like.
The best part was just being able to see an adults understanding of my topic.
My favorite part by far was learning everything that I know now that I didn't know at the begining of the topic.
The best part of working on this project with my mentor was getting help and feedback on my project. When I was behind on my project, I started to ask my mentor more questions about my topic and he helped me get cot up on my work.
The best part of working on this project with my mentor is that they helped me be a better learner.
The best part of working with my mentor was that she is just awesome and she gave me great feedback on what to do to make this project awesome. I also appreciate the way she got back to me in less than 3 days of 4-5 days. I also really liked hearing from the mentor and giving me advice on what to do to make me a better person in academic areas, like make sure you put a comma there and just making me feel better about myself and my project.
The best part of working on this project with my mentor is i liked how when we needed some help or had questions our mentor would be there to answer our questions and give us feed back.
It made me think hard and I learned what stuff I may want to to when I grow up I think I will what to be a inventor in animal work.
The best part about working with Emily was being able to share information and receiving awesome feedback from her. She has been a major help in this project.
I got to learn so much. I think that my mentor helped me learn to communicate and think.
My favorite part of the project was filling out the survey.
I believe that the best part would probably be finishing my final project and including all of my research and information while doing that and learning interesting facts.
I really liked communicating with my mentor. I didn't have to wait in line to ask my teacher a question I just had to email my mentor. My mentor was really helpful in this project I could get advice from her and get information from her. The best part of this project was my mentor.
well the best part would be getting her feed back because she really takes her time looking though websites.
The best part to me is when you are stuck on something, I could of asked my mentor for help and then I won't confused any more.
The best part on working on this project was that I raised my awareness on bullying and got to have feedback to make my project better from my mentor. I would've never thought I could make a big impact in my school about a topic I feel so strongly about. If I were never in this project, people probably wouldn't ever know what I've been through and that bullying was this important to me. I probably would've never even thought about making a video or presentation about bullying.
The best part about working with my mentor on this project was just allways being able to communicate really easily with him and I didn't have to wait for my mentor to respond so I can respond. Any of us can email them through the website any time we wanted.

Please share any other academic areas where you'd like to receive help from a mentor.
The main academic areas where I would have liked to receive help from my mentor are math and science, even though I didn't need to do math or science much with project, I still would have liked to learn more. In away the Telementor program taught me how to make a good presentation.
I would really like to receive help with math. It is probably the subject I struggle with the most.
I would like to recieve some help in math because I have trouble finding out answers to problems.
I would like to receive help from a mentor in science.
My project helped me understand science more and learn more about our earth. It also helped me learn what I should learn to have a deeper knowledge of something.
I would like to receive more help on math.
I'd like to learn more about the brain and how it works with other systems.
Know were
I think science would be a good one.
- Language Arts (writing) - Science (biology) - Research
Another area I would like to research with a mentor is football helmet safety and concussion science research. I would also like to research the body and what causes severe asthma. Some other academics that were covered was science and English.
The main academic area were is good research in different classes.
I learned a lots about science through the program I also learned some things about English and some on math.
I would still want to learn more about the topic that we were working on for the program which was Bigfoot and the Lochness Monster.
I got an academic area was science because the oil spill has to do with chemicals and biomass's.
I really could use some help in math. its been my worst topic for years.
In this proses, I learned and understood more about global warming. The only thing that I knew about global warming was that it caused temperature to change and that it was also causing glaciers to melt faster.
An academic area where I would like to receive help from a mentor is science. I am not the best student when it comes to science, so having help from a mentor would help me understand things better.
I learned a lot from I think Math Reading Writing Science and just about school reasoning is. My topic was Educating Children With Down Syndrome. And that was to educate them in all classes not just one educational topic.
an academic area i learned about was science because i had to learn not just about polar bears but the earth.
I would like help in advance math because then I can learn more. Also, in science because I will learn stuff that I would of never learned before.
Some other academic areas I'd like to receive help from a mentor is my school.
I think that I learned more about how students and experts though of school.
I'd like to have a mentor in science for different big projects.
I would maybe like to receive help from them at the point where I am putting together what I am doing and how I should do it.
My mentor gave my some facts about my topic and that really helped because I didn't have a lot of facts. She shared my survey with my experts and I really like how she kept giving me a message. I learned more about the ecosystem am the black-footed ferret.

My topic was mostly for trying to save penguins and about research.
I have improved a lot in English with Telementor, I've also seen lot's of improvement in writing and math.In academic areas, my mentor has helped a lot, I don't think I could've improved any more than how she has helped me.
Some academic areas I think I learned during this project was just researching are. I didn't really learn any math, science, english, etc.

What advice would you give your mentor as he or she works with a new student?
The number one thing I would share as advice for a mentor working with a new student is to be patient, this is new to them, they deserve your patient even if you don't think so.
Give your student lots of praise when the do something good, but don't go easy on them. Push them past their limit.
I would suggest to always be patient with the student.
None. I think that Grace was an awesome mentor! Nothing should be changed about the way she worked with me.
I would tell my mentor to do the same stuff she did with me. She were really helpful and was a great mentor. Without her I wouldn't be able to have done this project.
I would give my mentor advice on being more atentive the messages and giving more detail in the messages.
I would advise her to keep doing the same thing she did with me. I thought it really helped me go above and beyond with my project.
Try to be more commutative.
That they should reply sooner and more feed back.
I could not have asked for any more of my mentor. I would however tell them the thing that helped me most was the detailed constructive feed back. I knew exactly what needed done and/or fixed.
Some advice I would give to my mentor is communication wise. I think it took him a while to e-mail me back when it was something urgent.
I would say that she should email twice a week unless there is something wrong with the internet or she is somewhere that has no internet.
None my mentor was amazing and I think if they have another student they shouldn't change any thing.
Just keep on giving them advice on what he or she wants to do. Give them great ideas like my mentor gave me. And just have fun telling stories you have heard, and make the most of the short time you will have on this project make the most of it.
Just to keep doing what shes doing because she was excellent
You should push your student to do the best that they can, and do the same thing that you did for me, but for them.
The advice that I would give my mentor as he works with a new student would be, try to communicate more/ send more messages to the person that you are mentoring.
Some advice I would give to my mentor is to try to add specific details of what exactly do you think they need to do or change.
Jackie, I would get back to your new student quicker or as soon as possible because I felt that it was just a little frustrating waiting on your opinion and your thoughts and what you have been doing to work with me.
i don't really have any advise
I do not have advise because my mentor did ever thing in her power to help me.
I'd advise her to give the specific details/feedback she has been giving me. I'd also advise her to email the student back no more than one day after the students email has been sent.
Ask the student to keep you up to date with what he or she is doing and ask the student to share what he or she needs you to do and when.
If they're not emailing for a while, ask them what they want from the mentor.
Maybe, they should try to stay in contact more and help the students by giving tips throughout their whole experience and so on.
I would tell her to communicate a little more around the end of the There was a lot going on then and I would have liked more communication.
Well let see i would give her advice in emailing quicker.
I would tell my mentor that it is a very fun but difficult project and it helps you a lot in your future.
Serena has been so helpful, she has given me opinions that had helped me improve my project in many ways. It is great to get a bit of criticism and what you think will makes the project better. I loved how she's been truthful and nice while giving me advice and could not ask for a better mentor.
I would not give my mentor any advice really. I thought he communicated really well and knew how to get my attention in different parts of this project. I think he is really goood with kids or at least me.

Would you be interested in receiving mentoring support from professionals in the future?
5 - No
25 - Yes

Please describe why or why not.
I would like to have mentoring support from professionals in the future because I love having someone other then my teacher or family to look over my work and give me their honest opinion.
I would like to receive help from professionals in the future because it was fun working with my mentor, I learned a lot, and I improved in English. I gained a better understanding of what would happen if a top predator was removed from an ecosystem.
I would because I want to inform everyone about sharks, and I think this would really help me get a job when I grow up.
Yes, because this was a very special experience and I would love doing it again. I have more experience now.
If I find an interesting topic that I would like to learn more about and tell people about it I would probably want help from a mentor because my mentor was very helpful and i learned allot.
I would like more help with from a mentor in the future because the help that they give is not just you parents or teachers telling you it is the mentor/other persons point of view.
I would like to receive mentoring from professionals in the future because I could improve more than I did before.
No because it was really hard.
Because they might be busy or some thing so it takes a long time for them to reply.
My mentor has helped me think long term with a goal in mind rather than just do, do, do randomly. It has helped my project be a fun and helpful learning experience. I have loved explore my passions with someone who understands that kids can change the world, and that some times, we have the really good ideas.
Yes, because if it is a professional I will be more willing to listen and try harder and a professional will have some good information that will be very useful and valuable.
I would because it is an interesting program.
It would be easy for asking expert input
Because it is a way I get to connect with people all over the world and I not just talking to a teacher that is in the room, or talking to my friends about. That is why I would like to do this again.
Yes because that would just help me and my understanding of my topic and how i can make a difference at my age.
I think that it would be fun, but it was HARD. I would do it though.
I might interested in receiving mentor support from professionals in the future. It mite be a yes and it mite be a no.
Yes, because this program helped me understand at a deeper level and helped me expand my learning abilities. In the future, I might need this help again.
I just feel comfortable doing what I am doing on in life and this one of the things that I would not recommending to my self because like I said this is something that I really am not into.
no because i don't really no what else i would need it for.
Because then I can learn even more to be want I want to be when I grow up.
No, because I have a lot of homework to do everyday and I don't think I have time to communicate with a new professional mentor in the future.
I think it is fun to receive feedback from professionals that help to increase my learning.
Yes because I like the suggestions and the collaboration.
I would because they would maybe have a different and more specific point of view on things and would maybe be better at your topic.
Because I have someone to turn to, to only help me not my entire class. She was just focused on me. i would love to have that in other classes.
I would like to because she really explained the things out for me for example she put questions out like "What do you need from me and when by."
I would because if I have another project then i could ask him or her for help.
I would because I love getting feedback, I especially love it when there truthful and give me ideas on how to make this project better. It's always great to get responses from people who have been more experienced, after all I'm currently just a kid and still learning!
I would say yes because I allways think getting advice from someone else is fantastic. It give you a better understanding and allows you to think at a deeper level when you have heard aomething from a different perspective.

Was this the first time you've been part of a formal mentoring program?
2 - No

Please describe the most difficult parts of working on this project with your mentor.
The most difficult part of of working on this project with my mentor was doing research because if you don't have all your research ready then you will find yourself looking for certain things at last minute and that is a huge pain to have to go back and find the information.
The most difficult part was finding good websites. I had to look whether or not the person had a degree, and when it was last updated, and what the sources were. It was hard.
The most difficult parts of working on this projects were trying to find experts, and trying to receive survey answers.
The hardest part was getting started. It was hard for me to come up with an idea. At first it was also difficult to work without guidelines, but as the project moved on it became easier for me.
A difficult part was deciding what I was going to do for my final project and finding all the good things and bad things about each option. Also sometimes it was herd to find reliable websites.
The most difficult part of working on this project with my mentor was finding the reaserch and getting the steps done on time.
The most difficult part was when my mentor was busying and I didn't many responses.
The most difficult part was everything.
It is very hard to communicate and i did not get much feed back.
Sometimes, there was a point when he was really busy and could not get to email me back every time I emailed him (which sometimes was twice a day! I don't blame him!).
The most difficult parts about this project were finding a expert and getting them to answer my survey questions and finding good research.
The most difficult thing on this project was finding websites.
Remembering to check my messages
Staying on time with what is due because of extra things I had to do.
Probably when i don't get a response in a couple of days.
The hardest part would either be finding experts, or making survey questions.
The most difficult part of working on this project with my mentor was/is step 5 and step 6. Those steps were the most difficult parts of this project because I never got any survey results for step 5 or step 6. So instead of analyzing data from my survey, I had to find reliable websites on global warming and do research instead.
The most difficult part of working on this was communicating. I was really hard to communicate because we had to include very much detail and say exactly what you meant. Also, communicating was difficult because sometimes, I wouldn't explain very well what kind of help I need.
My most difficult part working with my mentor was receiving and trying to send things out and that was just really frustrating.
The most difficult part was putting the final project together and going through all the information to put in my article.
To find experts and to make the survey.
The most difficult part about doing this Telementoring project is getting things done in time.
Communicating efficiently. I found it hard to tell my mentor what to do and everything I am thinking.
The most difficult part was trying to make a presentation with only one response.
The most difficult part was when I didn't have a mentor a lot because my mentor was in hurricane Sandy and I haven't heard from her in months. It was hard because I was stuck at the point.
Sometimes I didn't get a message as soon as I wanted to. If I could get a message right away it would be awesome. Also getting survey data was kind of hard.
The most difficult part is doing research.
I think the most difficult part was when I was looking for research and finding the right information.
The most difficult part was getting data and making the video. It was pretty hard getting answers on my survey and giving data analysis, and of course it was hard to start filming and editing, but it was worth it to see how my video came out and how much I've learned from this once in a life time opportunity. Which has changed me in so many ways.
Porbably just all of the work I have had to do. With emailing my mentor to creating my survey data and then analyzing it. There has just been a lot of homwork and stuff like that.
