Please describe the best part of working on this project with your mentor.
when she helped me with stuff i did not get
My mentor helped me solve things that I could not solve for myself. I enjoyed hearing personal things from my mentor and keeping a sort of personal relationship with her. Courtney gave me a ton of fun getting to read her messages that she sent to me. I really enjoyed telementor with her!
I could Have my mentor review my work. I could also ask for help.
I feel like the best part of working on the project with my mentor was that I was getting feedback constantly, and that it was better having two minds working on the same thing rather than 1.
The best part was having her there to help me. It was also good because she was there when i need her and i could message her whenever.
I enjoyed having someone to bounce ideas off of. I felt like she was always there for me.
the best part for me personally, the best part was being able to contact a professional
I get to ask for help from my mentor and they are really nice.
The best part about working with my mentor this year is the learning opportunity. Also the fact that my mentor has helped me learn how to solve real world problems and look from a different perspective in almost any situation.
She was very nice. I felt very comfortable messaging her.
I think the best part of it was communicating with someone in telementor.
I can talk freely with my mentor. Also she gave me alot of info.
The best part of working on this project with a mentor is the constant feedback and being helped on papers/projects that were due in this class.
I loved hearing from my mentor, and she always made her messages fun to read. She gave me a lot of helpful tips that I could use. It was a great experience, and she was fun to work with. I had a great time.
The best part of working on this project with my mentor was that I learned so much from my mentor. It was also very fun to be able to acquire so much knowledge.
The best part of working on this project with my mentor was being able to communicate with someone with so much knowledge and care for wildlife.
They were fun to work with and nice. They almost always helped me, and... They were super intense with the knowledge they gave me in the messages.
getting to know her and just learning about animals along the way.
I liked that we got feedback and support from people we didn't know and didn't know there personality. We got to meet some one new.
The fact that he worked in a zoo. He was very knowledgeable around animals which was what the project was around. He was able to provide a lot of info.
In working with my mentor I have learned to communicate and interact with a professional and through have become more socially comfortable. The best thing this year was to see how another induival thinks and how it relates to how I think. This was an amazing experience this whole year.
Getting to know her personally and growing in being more interested in how this worked or why did that animal do that.
The best part of working on the project with my mentor was being able to share work with someone.
The best part with working with a mentor is the fact that I get to learn more facts about the wildlife. An other part that's great with working with a mentor is that I have some one to revise my work.
The best part about working with Zoe was her helping me. Zoe answered a lot of my questions and gave me great websites to refer to.
Being able to get help and getting to know them and what they do. And having them influence me to the better.
The best part of working with my mentor was getting to know her. She was a great help and a wonderful person. This definitley made telementor more fun.
I loved this project. it aloud me to interact with adults. And also get there professional opinion. Lastly, this project has also opened so many doors.
Please share any other academic areas where you'd like to receive help from a mentor.
is when i need help with ideas
Courtney covered everything with me and always got back to me quickly so I could include it into projects I needed help for, and I really liked how she helped me with everything. I liked receiving writing ideas and advice because it helps me become a better writer.
Math. I would love to have a mentor in math. Also engineering. It would be cool to see what kind of projects they do
I don't feel like I need other academic areas where I need help from a mentor.
In Math because i am not the best at math. It would be nice to have her andswer questions that i need in math.
I really appreciated my mentor, but I would've like if she had given me more feedback. It was hard to try to find out what she was saying.
not really anywhere
I have no other areas I need help with.
If I had to choose an area that I could use a mentor's help in it would be geography. Because they could help me learn about different cultures, and both physical and political regions. Or how to improve others lifestyle through out the world.
It would be a great help in English, and maybe math.
maybe with reading and writing in my projects and essays.
I am going to go over the summer something like this and that will be cool.
Other than teachers I didn't have any mentors before. But I'm glad I had the chance to have one and realize the ups to having on.
My mentor did not message me back as much as I had hoped. She was great, but I would have appreciated more feedback. Many times when I would check my messages, she had not messaged me back, so I could not get work done on time.
I would like to receive a mentor in geography because it is really hard to learn that much about different country's. It is also hard to memorize the country's names.
Math and English
Geography... Maybe math, although I am very advanced in it. But possibly English because I am at the level of English I'm supposed to be at, but I need help getting the work done.
I would like mentors help in just learning how to share the ideas we have come up with.
Big Projects like grand challenge, book reports, and other big projects. Also friend issues.
I think geography. I think I could get help in climate. I would also need help in learning land forms.
I have some serious problems in math; my grades are hard to improve and I can't grasp some concepts. With a mentor, I could receive almost tutoring in the subjects I lacked in, as well as quality advice and strong opinions.
My mentor was a huge help and answered all my questions. She helped me academically in all my subjects that I asked.
I don't have any academic areas which I would like to receive help from my mentor.
Other academic areas were I'd like to receive help from a mentor is in math. An other place were I would like academic help from a mentor is in English.
There are no other areas.
I would love to revive help for geography.
I'd like to recievce help from a mentor from every class. I think that way because they are fun msure do help!
I think English would be a great subject for this site. I think this because the mentors could help with ideas and editing. Also how to grab multiple audience attention such as adults.
What advice would you give your mentor as he or she works with a new student?
She needs to message back as soon as posable
Maybe make them question things a little quicker and not hold it out over a period of time-other than that I think my mentor was a great one.
For my mentor not really any, but for some mentors grammar. It is sometimes hard to understand them if they don't use grammar.
I would say, look at all of the details, and make sure that they're good. I would also say, look at the big picture.
To always check her inbox every other day. I think she should do this because then the student has an answer really quick not in 3 or 4 days.
To keep doing what you did with me!
keep doing a great job
I would say to ask more questions for the students to answer themselves.
I think my mentor and I worked wonderfully with one another, although if I had to give her one word of advice for when she is working with future students, I would say to expand on her thoughts about my own ideas. Or steps I can take to make them work.
To try to message a little more. She was absent for work a lot, and although i understand it is hard to message while on a trip, she could try to message a little more.
writing longer messages and getting more to the point with questions.
nothing
My mentor was really great but I think they could work on is asking more questions.
I think that my mentor needs to message people back more. I think that she needs to give her students feedback at least twice a week. However, she made the messages fun to read, and I really enjoyed them. The tips thta she did give me were great.
I would tell the mentor to get to know them and work with them not for them. The reason is because if you don't know them you cant tell if they do the work and don't work for them because then they learn nothing.
Provide any ideas for that specific idea.
Do exactly as you did with me. It worked.
stay the same and work hard.
To be open to ideas. Set more ground rules.
Maybe a send a message a little more often. Because I needed a back up mentor a couple times. Maybe to put a little more length to the messages.
My mentor could definitely use some smaller words, or maybe just explain them. I have a rather large vocabulary, but some of those words were above my head. (I have also recently been informed that my mentor was prompted to throw his hardest challenges at me, courtesy of Mr. Neils) My mentor could also ask some more personal things that create a more friendly relationship.
That she should give a little longer response.
I don't have any advice regarding my mentor.
I would say some advice is to say "do you have a sibling that was in this project.". Some other advice I would give my mentor as she works with an other student is to start a conversation with them.
The only advice I would give my mentor would to be give more feedback on specific areas of a paragraph or essay.
DO the same thing you did with me. Every message every time I got help it was flawless.
The advice I would give my mentor when she works with another student is keep up the good work. Don't change a thing! Keep at it with whatever your doing because what your doing is something I want to see from every mentor who ever lies fingers on a computer.
I don't have any advice for my mentor. Heather was great and any student would be luck to have her.

Would you be interested in receiving mentoring support from professionals in the future?
2 - No
26 - Yes
Please describe why or why not.
Yes because she made me feel great about my work and she told the truth to me
I think it could help me in the future with a job I may have or other school stuff I might need help on.
It was very helpful to get feedback from them. I could also ask any question I needed to ask.
I would like more mentoring support because it is good to have a second opinion.
I think it is always nice to have some one there to help you other than your parents or a techer.
It helped me stay on focus and make my work better.
because I feel like it helped more than just my
I have no need for mentors in future years as I know have right now.
I would appreciate professional support in the future because it is always good to get feedback from others, in order to see another perspective whether it is in a Science, Math, or English project or activity.
It was great working with a mentor, She gave me lots of advice and help.
yes because it will impact my grade.
It will help me get a nice job and others.
Mentors are really helpful and are very different from working with my peers. They also provide great ideas which bounce back and forth becoming even better.
I had a great time doing this project, and I would love to keep doing something like that. Having a mentor always helps with your learning experience.
I would because middle school is very hard and mentors help you. Also the mentors can teach you things before they do in class so you have a better grasp of it.
I would like to because I like to get support from people that have more information in a topic.
It was fun considering the project, but I wouldn't want to be obsessed with Telementor 24/7
yes because I think they helped me learn more then I thought I could and if I got that chance again I would take it.
I would like to have support again because they helped with my projects. I got support with major projects.
My writing has gotten longer. I have another adult to help me other than a teacher. I also an better at science now.
Professionals allow you to see into the advanced business future and do things some children will never experience. We learn things from them that we would never think of, having not experienced it.
Yes because she helps me answer academic questions and helped me pursue my dreams.
Because I believe it would be fun to continue working with someone and sharing my working them.
I chose yes because I may need help in the future. For example help in math or science again.
I would be interested because the program is very helpful.
Yes. My grades have improved immensely due to my mentor. And I also feel like I can learn more having help from a professional.
I would because it is fun to have them and get to know them. Then, it really helps you with whatever you're trying te get out of them.
yes I would I believe even though I have already learned so much this year..... there is always something to learn about something.
Was this the first time you've been part of a formal mentoring program?
1 - No
27 - Yes
Please describe the most difficult parts of working on this project with your mentor.
There was not much difficult for me
I wish I had a reminder on my computer that my mentor has messaged me, or a reminder that says how many times she has messaged me that are new so I can get back to her more quickly.
Sending files. I had some trouble with sending the files.
I think the only time when it was difficult is when they are gone or sick or on a buisness trip.
That you had to take a little bit of time when you need to work on something to message your mentor.
I found it a little difficult to message her back 3 times a week at least.
you had to mentor twice a week
The most difficult times were trying to find the time to message my mentor.
The most difficult part about working on this project was when I was talking about a video or experience I had and I could not easily share a picture with her to enhance the experience. So that she could better understand what I was messaging her about.
It was hard to weather proof the cameras, and hard to find the right time to put the cams up.
I think the most difficult part was that typing every other day.
probaly hard to put videos in to link.
Explaining everything in a way my mentor will understand. Also understanding them because we can think one of us will think one way but we will think differently.
I found it difficult to contact my mentor, because sometimes it did not go through. I did not get much messages back from my mentor.
the most difficult part of it was keeping the mentor informed. since they were not hear.
Figuring out how to describe my thinking without being able to use visual aids to describe my ideas.
none.
mentoring back fast with all the other home work i felt a little bit clustered with messages
The most difficult thing was only communicating trough e-mail. You might have to wait a while for a response.
The communication was slow because it was just text and some times they don't message back.
The most difficult parts of this project were the questions that preceeded the messages, because most of those weren't part of the project and were a constant area of pressure. I felt very crunched and incomplete with that not done.
Remembering to give a good response and always answer as soon as you can.
Thinking of things to write about.
The most difficult part of working on this project with my mentor is keeping up with messaging to my mentor. I also had a difficult time with remembering to finish my message I saved.
There were no difficult parts.
I really did not have really any difficulty with my project because with my mind and his I think we were unstoppable.
The most difficult part of working on this project was getting my message sent fast. I felt bad that I couldn't really send the message as fast as I could. That is what I think would be the most difficult part.
The most difficult part is when they don't get back to you. but us student do realize the have jobs and have places to be.

I don't think you missed anything, I just wanted to say that my mentor really changed the way I look at things. I want to become a mentor when I grow up or do it in my free time. Maybe as a hobby
I thought the program was great and is great. The whole idea of it is just fascinating and really beneficial.
