Please describe the best part of working on this project with your mentor.
The best part of working with my mentor was that I had some one to keep me on track. When I was starting to get off topic she would bring me back and give me some extra help and answers.
It was just exciting working with someone who knows so much, and I know hat he can help me accomplish many things. Whenever I needed clarifying on a situation, my mentor was always there for me and willing to help.
Getting to share research and receive feedback on messages sent.
The best part about working with my mentor on this project was my mentor was very helpful and gave me some great ideas. Having her as a person to resort to on questions about the project really helped.
That we get a one on one conversation with your mentor in stead of being in a classroom discussion type state. This makes it easier to tell your point.
The best part is that I can ask someone for my advice to help with the project.
I think the best part about working with a mentor i that you get to work with just more than people in your group, class or school. I also think is a fun idea to work with some one whom you've never worked with before because its fun, exiting since you have never meet this person they might inspire you or have really good and productive ideas for you to share in class.
The best part of working on this project with my mentor was that he helped me when I needed help with researching or writing letters.
The best park well i wold say it would be the amount o communication and how they try to respond faster so that they can help us even faster.
The best part of working on this project with my mentor was that my mentor got to help me research when I needed it and gave me advice on what to do. And it really helped me do things faster.
I think the best part of working on this project with my mentor was probably being able to learn things a lot quicker and him giving me links to websites that would help me move forward with the project.
The best part of working on this project with my mentor was learning how to communicate better with people of more important status than my own.
I think that the best part of working on this project with my mentor was do the research with my mentor and him sending me links to websites that I could share with my group.
The best part of working on this project with my mentor was the outside help. We would never have found the kind of plant that we are going to plant, or found out that we don't need to kill any prairie dogs, my mentor has helped my by giving me professional help, and has learned alongside me this whole time.
I think that the best part working with my mentors was that we got to message each other.when ever I had a question my mentors would always try to find the best answer that could help me or my classmates. The other best part was when we needed more information about a certain subject we would both look for it and then we would share what we found.
The best part of working on this project with my mentor was getting all the help and support, and working on social skills and how to communicate better. I also had other opinions and ideas working with a mentor.
I think the best part of working with a mentor was getting to improve my social skills. Before I became a part of this program, the thought of communicating with a complete stranger terrified me. However, I really enjoyed talking with my mentor. I also liked having someone to help me find the information that I needed. I would find good websites on my own, but the websites that my mentor found were usually much better.
In my mind, the best part of this experience was when we were researching the diseases in bighorn sheep.
The best part of working with my mentor was when we started at a new area, because she really showed interest in the project.
The best part of this project when working with my mentor would probably be the account that she could send me various links and I could just respond to her at any time.
The best part about working with my mentor was the help and the support she gave me when I was stuck on something and have another persons opinion on things.
Getting help for them and being able to ask questions.Like if i didn't understand some thing they could help me or they could tell me to try this website.

Please share any other academic areas where you'd like to receive help from a mentor.
I would love to have some help from a Mentor in Social Studies and language arts. I would need help with spelling, editing skills the mentor may have and, the overall tips for studying.
It would be helpful for mentors not only to work in science, but to also help in mathematics as well, this would give students that need a little extra help some knowledge on how to do specific problems.
Technological academic areas would be great to learn about in telementor.
Other academic areas where I would like a mentor would be during science so they could give a second opinion what we learned and how to explain it.
Social studies, this is because i do not do struggle in this class and work hard but maybe have a mentor to help with this I would succeed with a better grade.
I'd like help in science because there are many people outside our classroom in the world of science .
One academic area is in social studies because at times social studies can be hard to understand sometimes, and with a mentor they could help you learn different ways of understanding how to learn or understand the topic or subject.
I'd like my mentor to help me during science. They could help us research and answer our questions.
I would say mostly in language arts.
I'd like to receive help from a mentor during science because maybe the mentor could give us more ideas of experiments to try and to solve more problems.
Another academic area where I'd like to receive help from a mentor is to respond back a little quicker because sometimes it would take up to a week.
I would like to receive help in the Social Studies. This would be fun because there would be people with lots of knowledge in this area that could help a lot.
I would like to get extra help with a mentor in trying to send as many links to websites as the person could because they really help when you are doing research.
Getting some outside help on homework, and studying is a great way that academically would result in a better understanding of the topic.
Some academic areas that I would like to receive from my mentor are to try to help with more writing skills and writing things out instead of typing everything on the computer.
Some other academic areas where I would like and I'm sure other people would like help from a mentor is Math and Science.
I think that i received help in most academic areas. If anything, I would like more help with math. Maybe the mentor could have the student consider a budget for their projects.
I think if I had a choice on another area for a mentor, it would be in English.
I would definitely appreciate a mentor in math, because math is very complicated and there are some very smart mentors out there, and math is complicated.
I have received help from my mentor for things like links for plants or food webs. I have also went to her for revising and editing proposals
Some other academic areas i would like to receive is math.
No there is no other academic areas that i need help from.

What advice would you give your mentor as he or she works with a new student?
Well one thing I would mention is that the mentor needs to make the project sound more interesting. They need to pull in the student in a way.
I would just tell him/her to keep on doing a great job like they always have done. When I first started this program, my mentor was incredibly kind to me and helpful in so many ways.
To keep the other student updated like I was and research whatever their projects are so they will have an understanding of how to help.
Helping answer questions and giving feedback are two of the most helpful things in projects. Just keep doing what you are doing because it helped me and I am sure it will help another kid.
Not to have so many mentors I had 4 mentors though this project. So then I would have to catch every mentor up on what was going on except one that had been working with another student in this class.
I would say sometimes when she sends out messages they do not make sense. and sometimes I feel she does not have very much background information
First of all I would be very open to the student and don't say that they are wrong because it might make them feel bad, instead suggest a new idea. Also try to lighten the mood a little bit to keep the conversation fun and productive.
My advice that I would give to my mentor would be to give more advice and suggestions and not just learn about the project but help answer questions fast and reply quicker. I think that my mentor could of answered more of my questions and when he emailed me, not just to try to bring up a conversation.
Well i would say not to ask to many questions at first. Also, to try to not be so hard on them when they don't respond fast enough because knowing that they probley have more important things to do.
I would give them the advice of trying to message back as soon as possible and try to learn more about what the project is that they are doing a little more so that they can actually help their student not just listen to what they are doing.
Some things i would say to give advice is to help them with research by giving them links to help them, but he does this. I'd also say to be as specific as possible to gt to a point but he almost always does too.
I would give advice that these students that he is working with really appreciate the work that he does for them. Sometimes getting messages out to them is difficult but we send them as much as we can.
I would say that he should try and help as much as he can , which he did. Also, I would say that responding back to your student as fast as you can would help a lot, he also did this to.
For the project it would be nice for there to be more information in the messages, and less links. The messages should include the information in the links. This makes it easier to respond to without going to the site and then trying to pick out the information.
Some advice that I would like to give to my mentor a they work with other students are to not put a lot of information on just one message but to just lead them to the site where they found the information
Some advice I would give to my mentor is maybe getting to know their student a little bit better.
Try to send a message as frequently as possible, and if you are not sure what the student is asking, don't be afraid to ask them to clarify. If they don't tell you what exactly they need, it's okay to ask that too.
I would say to try and get to know the student and bond a nice relationship with each other so they are comfortable talking with one another.
My mentor did a great job when she started working with me,she took it slow at first, found out a bit about me,found my difficulty's and let me run the show, instead of her taking over .There really wasn't many ways she can improve. But i would recommend for some other mentors is to give the kids a little more control over the project and let the kids ask more questions.
To be patient and caring with their words. They have to be able not to just support them , but to let them know you care about the situation.
Advice I would give to my mentor is to get the kid more and ask what they enjoy.
I would give them the advice to let them know you a bit more because it is easier to talk to some one that you know and to be friendly.

Would you be interested in receiving mentoring support from professionals in the future?
2 - No
20 - Yes

Please describe why or why not.
I would like having professionals help in the future because they would know more about the topic and they could tell right away if what you are doing is correct because they know from a professional's perspective.
Its not really about the help I get,Its really about how I'm treated and what kinds of help I get. My mentor was really helpful and kind, This is the kind of things I look in for someone that is going to be teaching me any subject.
Yes because mentors can help with your studying or projects if need it.
Mentors have really help take some weight off of our shoulders so we didn't have to think about answering questions and how good our letters we wrote were. Mentors helped a lot and I would like to maybe have one in the future.
I would because this helped me get connected with professionals and other people. This also tells you how to find or get results or just information.
yes because it was helpful getting an extra brain involved in our work
Yes because I enjoyed very much being able to communicate with my mentor, and that with his help I found my project much easier and enjoyable.
Yes because my mentor was positive and encouraging and also gave me tips. he also helped me research about a lot of topics that I needed help on.
I would like to communicate with professionals in the future because the know a lot more then what others do and they can help us way more then some others can.
Yes because the mentors helped me when I needed help on researching and when I needed ideas on how to do things. My mentor helped me become a better writer because she edited the things that I wrote which gave me the knowledge of what not to do in a formal letter.
I would absolutely love to receive more mentoring support from professionals in the future because it helped with the project and not just that but it also had a big impact on how I look at things.
I would like to because this program was really helpful to me and it was a fun experience.
I would want to receive mentoring support for the future because I thought that my mentor really helped me when I needed it. It was easier to get help if I was stuck because my mentor was willing to help me in every way that he could. I also think that this would help me because it made this class easier when it was hard.
I would love to have extra help from mentors in the future because this has been such a rewarding experience. I have learned way more from my mentor than reading a book at the library, or trying to look online. My mentor has helped better myself and the world around me with my project.
I think that having professionals mentoring kids or students in the future would be interesting because you might get more specific information than from teachers or other students.
I just like to work on my own and like help from people I can physically hear or see.
Having a mentor really helped me to achieve more than I would on my own. Because my mentor was a professional, he could sometimes give me advice and information from his own experiences. He also knew more about writing then I did, so he helped me to improve my writing skills a lot. Having someone to help me find good, informative websites also made the researching phases go a lot faster, leaving more time to actually work on my project.
I would like more mentor help because that's another person that wants to help me succeed which would really help me academically get where I need to get.
I would like help from mentors in the future, because i is extra professional help, that i can rely on for accurate information and help.
I would like more support in the future by professionals because it is nice to be able to talk to someone different than you and still be able to get research done.
I would like to receive mentoring support because it's easier to see what other people thought about my ideas or suggestions or to get more advice on the topic I'm researching.
Yes because they help fined answers to my questions and helped improve my writing skills and my teamwork skills.

Was this the first time you've been part of a formal mentoring program?

Please describe the most difficult parts of working on this project with your mentor.
The most difficult parts of working with a mentor are that you had to wait at least a day for a response and it was hard to find time to message back. Time was the one thing I didn't have enough of during this program,we were doing so many things we barely fit it all into one year.
The most difficult parts of working on this project with my mentor was really nothing that I can think of. Everything within the program was so easy to use, and easy to handle as well. The most difficult thing was actually going up to the ranch, but once again, it isn't even difficult at all.
The most difficult part was waiting to receive feedback after a few days.
The most difficult part about working with my mentor was waiting for responses and feedback. When we had to wait it was hard to keep the project moving and get what we needed to get done, done.
That the messaging is not as easy as if you were standing right in front of your mentor. So if you would a face to face face time or scheduled mentors to come in would be good and covenant.
It was hard to remember on my own time to message my mentor and sometime I would forget to message her.
The only trouble I had was that when I would ask for help on something I didn't know how or what to do my mentor wouldn't help because I did a pretty good job on knowing what to do but when I needed some help it was hard to get at times.
The hard things about working with my mentor were that sometimes he didn't answer the question that I asked him and didn't reply to me for a while. He would ask me questions that I had no idea how to answer but didn't know how to tell him that. It was frustrating that sometimes when I asked him a question, he would just comment on what I was researching or just ignore it. I was frustrating when that happened because he left me completely confused.
The most difficult parts of working on this project with my mentor would be the sharing and revising of some thing that we may have to send them.
The most difficult parts of working on this project with your mentor was that they couldn't physically show you what the best way to do something was so sometimes I didn't know how to do something. And when the mentors didn't respond when you needed them to you missed out on advice that you needed that day.
There's a few difficult parts of working on this project with my mentor. One thing is sometimes he was very busy and wouldn't answer in a while. Then he would have a back up mentor that didn't really know anything about the project we were working on that well as my mentor does.
Sometimes it was difficult to get messages off to my mentor. It was kind of hard to get all of my information into a message.
i thought that the most difficult part of working on this project with my mentor was if my mentor didn't respond to me in a couple days and I needed help right then it was hard for me to accomplish what I needed to do that day or couple of days.
The most difficult part was the organization of it all. Half the time I had no clue what step I was on in the processes. It was also hard to keep up with messaging my mentor while doing my project to my best ability.
some difficult parts of working with mentors is that you have to wait a couple of days to receive an answer from one question that we had
The most difficult part of working on this project with my mentor was always remebering to tell them whats going on, and what were doing in class.
I think the most difficult part of working with a mentor is when either the student or mentor is not able to contact the other for a while. There were days when I rally needed feedback, but my mentor didn't send me anything for a while, and times when I was not able to communicate.
It was hard when I had to try and find a possible way to fix our wetlands because there was really nothing we could do since the area needed to recover from the drought.
The most difficult part of the process was when we got a backup mentor because they really don't know where we are in the projector what we need help with, therefor they really cant help with most of the things we need help with.
The most difficult part of working with my mentor was that she kept telling me she can't give me the answer, she could only support me when i was just asking if she could help with some links.
The most difficult part was to make I was sending the proposals or scripts or anything else to them without forgetting.
I think it was not that difficult but i would say the hardest part was staying on track of messaging your mentor 2 times a week.

Did we miss something? If so, please share any additional comments you might have about your experience in the program.
No, I think you got everything that was needed covered in the program. I had so much fun doing this and I helped fix a problem or two other people needed fixed. This is definitely something I would want to do again or even mentor in the future.
I rally Like the program, it grew significantly helpful over time. I hope in the near future, I use this program again.
Being updated and helped through the project by someone helped a lot. I have no complaints what so ever.
No, you didn't miss anything. The whole program was very helpful and I had a great experience with it.
That the steps need to be more clear on the website of what to do this week.
No
Overall I thought that this was very helpful and the only thing I could think of is that I could get a little more help when asked.
I think that mentors should give a little bit more input about the topic that you are researching so that you hae more information.
Maybe something would be when a student shares something with their mentor that it says it has been shared so they don't resend it to many times.
I thought that this website was a great learning experience.
I think overall my mentor was really great. He helped me whenever I needed it and helped me move forward on my project. He also helped me learn a lot about the earth and of course prairie dogs.
I liked everything about this program.
I wanted to talk about my mentor. My mentor was probably one of the better mentors because he would respond to my messages most of he time that day or the next day. Also, he would give me a lot of links that I could go and look at or that I could share with my group. My mentor was very good because he would give me advise all the time that would help me in my project. Overall my mentor was very good in many ways.
My experience was wounder full, and the mentor I had was an awesome help to me, and really made this project happen. Thanks so much for giving students the opportunity to get outside help on there projects. Thanks!
you guys did a great job of helping us students.
You missed nothing.
Overall, I think this is a great program. However, if a notification cold be sent whenever a mentor uploads a file, that would be really helpful. Unless my mentor told me that he uploaded a file, it would sometimes take me a while to realize the file was there.
I think this program hit all the key points it should have which made it a fun first experience and I hope that someday I can do it again.
No.I think this is a great program the way it is,although it can be quite difficult when a backup mentor comes into play.I'm not quite sure how to fix that.
I do not beleive you did.
There wasn't anything you missed.
That it helped a lot of kids get involved in helping our plant and making it a better world for animals and people.
