Things either the teacher or the Mentored Pathways Staff do to make a similar project more successful.
There were several incidences where email directed to the teacher were not replied to.
The item of most concern was how to contact existing professionals for the survey. I believe this could have been done better, such as the use of a surveying tool rather than proposing direct emails.
This one really didn't get closed out either from the teacher or the student.
more frequent communication would be appreciated
The ending of the project just sort of faded away which was a bit of a disappointment. It would be helpful if the teacher had sent a message indicating the project was wrapping up (a deadline date would be useful or details of when the students were giving their presentations). I didn't know exactly where things were up to on the project and my student stopped communicating with me.

Feedback regarding the quality of the student's final project as well as suggestions for improvement.
Connor's work was only average in my estimation. His final effort to send survey questions were late and I was unaware of how he used the responses which I coordinated.
Elijah is a conscientious student and had remarkable maturity through the project. He performed well in research and analysis and delivered the required end product.
student shared final project, and incorporated feedback & reflection
The student's final presentation was fairly good - a standard presentation with nothing to make it really stand out. I think we could have had a good discussion about how to make it really 'pop' but my student didn't actually even let me know he had uploaded the project - I located it almost accidentally. He sent me thank you notes for the professionals I had contacted on his behalf, but with no other communication and that was the end of our contact. Usually I wrap things up with my students, discuss presentation skills and wish them well for the future, along with asking them for feedback on how the mentoring partnership went for them. When the project just peters out at the end like this it leaves a bit of a disappointed feeling rather than closing out a successful collaboration.

Would you consider mentoring new students in the future?
0 - No
6 - Yes

Why or why not.
It is always a positive experience and I believe Elijah had benefited from the one-on-one exchange on building a professional career.
rewarding to see students' thinking change
See previous survey responses

The most rewarding aspect of participating.
My effort to work with Connor were rewarding.
The "ah-ha" moment when a post from me resonated with Elijah and opened a new perspective on what a career really is.
rewarding to see students' thinking change
Working with a student who was interested in becoming a lawyer, and also being able to help him with his written communication skills and challenging him to do his best work rather than rushing through communications. He was enthusiastic and engaged although he didn't go very deeply into decisions about his future.

The most difficult aspect of participating.
Getting Connor to respond to my recommendations. He simply fed me with new requirements and it appeared (as he didn't comment much to my recommendations) that he may not have read any of them.
The survey
breaks in communication
The lack of communication at the end and no chance to discuss final project either before it went ahead or as a debrief afterwards to know how it was received and how the student felt about the project as a whole.
