Things either the teacher or the Mentored Pathways Staff do to make a similar project more successful.
There were several examples where the size of the project was impacted by time. An examination of that relationship could improve the quality of the student experience
Veronica is very actively communicating with all the mentors throughout the project. This is so much appreciated as it keeps us on track for the project timelines and gives us a view into the class room providing awareness of all the challenges our students are facing trying to get their projects completed.
Nothing. Veronica's messages were perfect - including information about what the students were doing, the testing that was occurring so we didn't become anxious when our student could not send messages for a while.
Might be an idea to create a project folder where all students could post their work and all mentors could contribute too.

Feedback regarding the quality of the student's final project as well as suggestions for improvement.
Mark's work was exemplary I believe. The final project reflected the amount of work and diligence to detail that Mark gave to his project management.
Quinn's project was fabulous! I gave her some suggestions regarding use of slides and amount of text. I also asked her to include some steps regarding approvals because in life, we all need to get those approvals. She understood my comments, not as critique but as input and provided information in her slides to cover those areas. Quinn is very intelligent young lady who will do very well in her future.
Cindy's project was a group event which made it a bit difficult to provide assistance or critique as she needed to conform to what the group wanted not just what she and I thought would be interesting.
The student's work throughout the project was of high quality.
My student drastically improved her presentations skills and the final document provided was way more structured and clear than the first one she had being working on during the project. I'm very happy that such an improvement was achieved in such short time frame.
Quality was excellent and was well thought out. Was definitely something the stuff t was passionate about.

Would you consider mentoring new students in the future?
0 - No
10 - Yes

Why or why not.
I enjoy my experience with the MP process.
I learned quite a bit about nanotechnology through this project. In collaborating with Quinn, I was able to learn and appreciate the new innovations in science.
I'd like to be sure that next year I can get the same student (it is her request) and I'd like to be sure there is a way her future teacher can create the match with me.
It was hard to keep up with the communication because I was unable to check my messages daily due to other obligations and the emails were not consistant.

The most rewarding aspect of participating.
Seeing progress made during the project time frame.
I love to collaborate with students such as Quinn. She had the capacity to not only work the labs and science project required but we also had the ability to work on her college path for her secondary education. I believe (I hope) that I was able to reduce some frustrations she was feeling in that area.
The final request from my student to get me as a mentor next year!!!
helping the student during difficult times in her project.
Seeing the students growth through out the year and helping them navigate the future.

The most difficult aspect of participating.
Nothing really
I didn't have any major difficulties in participating. The biggest issue is when the student has lapses in communication and the mentor needs to try to break through their wall of busy days of high school.
I'm in a business requiring a lot of travels and the time difference can be a challenge too. I would have preferred not receiving my student messages on Fridays but more during the week so that I could have replied much quicker to her.
saying goodbye to the student at the end of the year.
Finding time to research and being consistent with emails.
