Both the teacher and the ITP staff assist as needed. The teacher is particularly good at feedback and encouragement.
This project is very well-run by the teacher and the plan is modified as needed to meet student needs.
I had a really positive experience with the Zac & with Ms Turek. This was my first tele-mentoring experience & I truly appreciated their engagement, support & feedback. They were always quick to answer my questions.
Feedback regarding the quality of the student's final project as well as suggestions for improvement.
The student did a great job throughout the project performing her research and completing the assignment. She created a very high quality poster that summarized the work she did this semester including a career summary, professional organizations, top professionals, summaries of professional interviews, mission statement and plan of action. I thought she did a great job!

Would you consider mentoring new students in the future?

Why or why not.
I love working with the students and feel I can assist and make a difference in some way for every student.
Yes, I always enjoy mentoring students doing college and career planning projects.
I had a great experience. The student was a good match & it was really wonderful contributing to her project.
The most rewarding aspect of participating.
Quick response from the student and "hearing" the enthusiasm in their e-mails.
Working with the student and Mrs. Turek. My student was very motivated and responsive to feedback making it very easy for me. I really enjoyed getting to know her and ensuring that she was challenged and was learning new things throughout the project.
Seeing the student become motivated by the interview responses & becoming more positive about advanced education.
The most difficult aspect of participating.
Sometimes it is difficult to find the time to do any necessary research or reading to respond to the student request in a timely manner due to work and other personal commitments.
Finding biomedical scientists to interview. Despite sending out questions to 10 biomedical scientists (with follow-up messages), only 1 responded. My student chose 7 of these professionals as individuals she wanted to interview. Happily, the one response was from an individual she particularly wanted to interview.
