Things either the teacher or the Mentored Pathways Staff do to make a similar project more successful.
Both the ITP staff and the teacher provided the correct amount of support during this project.
Joan Turek goes above and beyond expectations when it comes to helping students succeed with this project and in life. She has created a wonderful project that has become a model for other college & career readiness projects and she continues to refine and enhance the project. She works with students individually to ensure they are getting the most out of the project and their career preparations. She provides informative weekly updates to keep mentors informed of what the students are working on.

Feedback regarding the quality of the student's final project as well as suggestions for improvement.
George's project was well researched, extremely detailed, and visually appealling. My final feedback to him was to make his information more succinct and "bulletized" in order to capture his audience and provide the correct amount of information.
Shelby did a wonderful job on her final poster and powerpoint project. She pulled together all the information she gathered throughout her experience to create a professional poster and powerpoint. She did a great job in weaving together two careers (missions and nursing) into her career goal of becoming a missionary nurse. This necessitated that she research two separate careers at each step of the project, including the interviews. The only suggestion I have is to ensure that she fully proofreads her work.

Would you consider mentoring new students in the future?

Why or why not.
I believe I can impact a student through this program.
Absolutely! It is very exciting to see students grow as they research their career and college interests. It's neat to see what they found surprising and helpful from each of the interviews.

The most rewarding aspect of participating.
Having the ability to work with dedicated students who want to learn and grow, as well as working with incredible teachers like Joan Turek.
The most rewarding aspect of participating was having the opportunity to help Shelby research a career in missions. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to share advice and interviews from missionaries I knew and grew up with to provide her with first-hand knowledge of this important career. Additionally, I really enjoyed working with her as she prepared for her short-term missions trip to Haiti. It is rare to have the opportunity to work with a student who as a freshman is motivated enough to get real-world experience in her career interest.

The most difficult aspect of participating.
Always, it's finalizing the project and having no follow-up on the students. I understand no contact, but certainly would love to get an update at times. How do teachers do it?
Finding interviews from missionary nurses was the most difficult aspect of participating. In the end, we were able to find one missionary nurse to interview. But we generally needed to interview missionaries and nurses separately and then combine the information they provided.
