Things either the teacher or the Mentored Pathways Staff do to make a similar project more successful.
I never heard from the teacher inspite of emailing twice to ask about the resume I created that the student could not find in the project files
Jonathan was an unusual case, so it's tough to generalize. His project was a little unfocused throughout, but the main thrust was based on a very difficult to research topic: paranormal energy. I respect Tom's allowing Jonathan to pursue his own interests, because I think it kept him as engaged as he could be; forcing him to choose a conventional topic probably would have lost him altogether. I would have appreciated a bit more individualized interaction between Tom, Jonathan, and me. There were long gaps in the conversation, and I didn't feel that Jonathan was being actively "pushed" through the project. The project was interesting in terms of working through difficult communication issues, but it was still pretty frustrating.
I had trouble with follow up. My questions with my student were not answered to the depth I would like.
None
Only enroll students that really want to have mentors. I got the feeling my student was not really into conversations via the tool.
Not sure what happened to Edgar at the end of the program but it was too bad we did not finish.

Feedback regarding the quality of the student's final project as well as suggestions for improvement.
There was not a final project as far as I am aware.
Very good. It was obvious from the final Powerpoint and from his last messages that Jonathan benefited from the project, and that made it all worthwhile.
Didn't see it.
Towards the end of the time we were working together, I wasn't hearing back from my student very much, and didn't get to see the final project.
Eric put a lot of work into his research and final project. I liked the use of color and graphics, as well as the content.
I am so sorry that the student could not complete the project as she is no longer a student at that school.
None was shared - student unresponsive in December
Unfortunately Edgar seemed to drop out of the program.

Would you consider mentoring new students in the future?
0 - No
12 - Yes

Why or why not.
(The usual reasons!)
I have had more success.
I enjoy doing this but this past quarter seemed tough both from a scheduling standpoint on my end, but also didn't seem to get as much response from the students as I have seen in the past.
Absolutely.. mentoring makes a difference in the lives of those students may not have the opportunity to be exposed to business professionals.

The most rewarding aspect of participating.
I was able to help Roman recognize that his Barber skills can and should be his career. It is his passion.
I could see that I was making a difference
Helping the new generations to find there way in an increasingly complex world.
I think my student was still motivated to go on to higher learning.
As always working with the students.
The most rewarding aspect of participating is knowing that my interest and support has contibuted to future of a young person who may say one day, I had a MasterCard mentor and she helped me to...

The most difficult aspect of participating.
Finding time.
My student lacked basic communication skills.
None
sending emailss regularly while handling job and family responsibilities.
Lack of communication near the end, lack of teacher setting expectations
