Things either the teacher or the Mentored Pathways Staff do to make a similar project more successful.
Continue to have consistent communication and transparency with mentors. Engage students as frequently as possible to ensure high participation, excitement and commitment to the project.
Project was well run from all members

Providing a project milestone chart would be helpful. I really didn't know what deliverables were due and when they were due.
I think the teacher and the ITP staff did a great job of communicating with me, and their expectations. Thank you!
This was a very involved effort requiring a lot of effort from student. This project requires a lot of ongoing communication and I would recommend to keep a focus on that in future projects.
I thought the weekly "check in" emails regarding the current step in the project PRIOR to my mentee emailing were excellent. I liked the way it previewed what I was getting from my mentee.
I think more interaction with the teacher as well as the student would be beneificial. I found out there was an issue with the student and project towards the end. I was a bit caught off guard but maybe a bi weekely note from teacher would be nice
The teacher and the ITP Staff demonstrated great effort to run this project as successfully as possible. As long as this type of support is available to the student and mentor, I see no need for improvement.

Yet another very involved teacher in the mold of Cameron Shinn and Rachel Ibanez - although those two set the bar very high! Mr Oliva sent out informative messages and schedule updates, along with a sample paper so we could see what the group should be aiming for in their project work. It did seems like there was a lot of cofusion about the 'end' timetable for this project and that spoiled things a bit as there was no time for review of the student's final work/debrief of the project together.
Not sure how much time the teacher has, but some feedback on the mentor's comments could help. I'm not sure I was a help at all for my mentee.
I felt like I did not have a substantial role in the students project. I felt more like a burden than a resource. He did not seek my advice on the project. This is not necessarily a bad thing, however, I do not feel I was necessary in the process.
Feedback regarding the quality of the student's final project as well as suggestions for improvement.
She really listened to my feedback and took in the insights and guidance I was giving her. Together with her teammates (and their mentors), they were able to create a very solid and high-quality research project. It was thoughtful, detailed and contained content that required them to probe more deeply. I would encourage her to think about ways in which she can continue to challenge herself - think of a project or question and turn it upside down...don't settle for status quo. Be curious and seek insights!
Student's work throughout the project was exceptional and far beyond my expectations
i dont know if i received the final project
N/A - Never saw it.
My student did a good job of incorporating feedback and of keeping me informed about what she was doing on her project. I enjoyed the whole process!
I was fortunate to have a very driven student. Her quality of work showed her desire to submit a great final project. No way I could improve on that.
I was very impressed with my mentee's writing ability. She also had an energy throughout the project that shined through her emails. I sensed an outgoing quality as well when she dealt with customers 1 on 1 when distributing the survey.
Student seemed very engaged but as the project progressed i felt like interest was lost.
I am excited to participate in this project. Although the student may still be working to complete the final product, I am anxious to see the final results. Knowing the business website address allows me to visit to view possible changes. The student had plenty of ideas to improve traffic to the establishment. I hope all of her team's efforts will be something they can proudly add to their portfolio.
I did not receive the final project results. I also kept asking to see the raw data collected, but it was never shared with me. The student should be encouraged to share this and maybe she was but did not follow through.
Excellent, Very professional quality work
I would have liked to see the final project or have some sort of final contact
This student was very diligent and her work improved tremendously from first to final draft. It was easy to work with her and she communicated her suggestions as well as considering and incorporating some of the guidance I provided. We had some good discussions and the final paper was of a high quality and will also have real world impact for the business in question.
I never received the final project so I cannot comment on this item.

Would you consider mentoring new students in the future?
1 - No
19 - Yes
Why or why not.
Very enjoyable program.
Yes, I absolutely would! Unfortunately, at this exact time I am afraid I won't have the time availability to fully commit to the mentoring experience again as we are currently undergoing significant organizational transformation.
Depends on location of student, time commitment & project.
Enjoy helping youg adults lear required skills
Absolutely! I, too, learned from my student. I'm looking forward to the next project.
If the student is involved, then mentoring is a joy. I've had some that weren't so good, but this one was very good experience.
I learned and helped more than I thought I would.
It was a nice experience overall. I like the idea of the program
Not only did I look at this opportunity as a way to help the student, it also help me in the area of accountability.
It was nice to be able to support what the teacher is learning and to provide a business perspective.
I enjoy working with young people.
See previous answers on this from other surveys.
I had a good time discussion the project with my mentee.
Honestly, since I did not play a particular role (other than potentially a requirement), I do not think it is best to re-involve myself in another project.
The most rewarding aspect of participating.
Seeing the development of my student messages during the semester.
Knowing I was making an impact on a student's life...by helping her through her studies but also connecting with her on a somewhat personal level to be a source of support and guidance more broadly.
Helping young adults understand the critical thinking that takes place in the business worl
interactive feedback
Seeing the student get excited about the research
Helping a student look at different ways of improving a final product.
Getting to know the student and developing a rapport throughout the project.
Seeing Kelsie's final project. It was very good.
Learning something new.
hoping that my suggestions helped the student get on the right track with the project
Taking the focus off myself and the busy schedule I keep made me realize that I have more time than I thought I did. Participating in this program allowed me to serve, and I did so joyfully.
Being able to help the student and having the student be open to my suggestions.
Most rewarding is seeing the final project and knowing that I had a hand in helping the student complete his work.
I have not had the chance to work with a high school senior before and it was nice to have the additional level of challenge. It took me longer to craft messages and review work because it was more detailed and complex than in the middle school level projects. I enjoyed the level of discussion with this gifted student also.
It was most rewarding to think I was helping a student and the future of our country.
Unfortunately, I do not think anyone benifitted from this communication.
The most difficult aspect of participating.
The time frame to respond. My work week does not allow me to respond at times during school hours so at times I would respond on a Thursday evening and my student may not see that message until the next week.
At first, getting into the rhythm of connecting and communicating effectively through a virtual platform (and not having the chance to ever establish a "live" and face-to-face connection).
Time restraints on my end
navigation of the website
not enough feedback from the student and no final product or feedback on how the student fared in scoring or grading
Electronic interface is convenient, but will never replace personal interaction. I felt like I was corresponding with a prisioner that was confined to an institution.
In the beginning, I was unsure of what was expected and what I would be helping with. Also, just familiarizing myself with the website and how to view/attach files.
Learning to get out of the way... She was on a mission and I just had to make some minor recommendations, but ultimately it was hers from start to finish. She did fantastic.
Keeping on top of emailing my mentee. With my workload, I was concerned a week would go by without me following up/providing the feedback she needed.
not seeing alot of work from the student especially in the later stages.
My shift/days off has changed twice since I started the telementoring program. That was the most difficult aspect I experienced.
Not getting the information that I asked for to be able to provide more meaningful analysis.
Kepping up with responding to the emails messages
The ending of this project left a bit of a bad taste - I felt I didn't have a chance to wrap things up with my student/review our mentoring relationship together/provide final words of encouragement. One of the reasons I signed up for this project is that it seemed nice to be able to continue on with a student past one semester. I'm not sure if the scheduling issues were preventable, but if possible, I think it's really important to know when you need to send final messages to your student and conduct the debrief.
The most difficult was wondering if my comments were really helping the student.
The task was not difficult.
First time you've been part of a formal mentoring program.
