I think it was well coordinated by the teacher and the ITP staff so I have nothing else to comment on.
Mr. Moore did a great job with weekly updates and ensuring that all the mentors were involved and aware of activities in the classroom.
I'd say that the ITP Staff should maybe outline the requirements for backup mentors.
Student moved schools at the end of the project so I was working with the new teacher, Joan Turek as well as the originating teacher, Nick Moore. I don't know how many students switch programs mid stream, but I ended up having to forward my emails from the student and myself to Joan, as she couldn't see them because he was listed under Nick Moore's program. A process for streamlining this should it happen again would be helpful. I am very thankful the student ended up in Joan's class because she made things happen that I couldn't get to happen in Nick's class.

Feedback regarding the quality of the student's final project as well as suggestions for improvement.
great project......
It represented the sum total of the research made by the student. I thought it was a very good presentation.
Julia's project using Prezi was great! I was very happy to see how she laid out her research and the information she has gained for her future.
Bri was an incredibly passionate and wonderful student to work with. She was very earnest in her research of her intended field of music, but rather suddenly shifted her plans to include a dual degree in nursing alongside her music degree. It seemed as though she did this without fully understanding the implications on time, effort, and cost for double major in two very different fields. It might be helpful for Bri to do some research on nursing similar to what she had done for music, so that she can make a very informed decision on such a strong commitment to double major
Layne's project was amazing. He's really bright and has an incredible future ahead of him. His potential really shined all during the project. I'll just make a suggestion that he starts writing his ideas down in a journal and starts to listen to motivational audios such as any by Jim Rohn.
I think Justine was the most articulate student I've ever worked with through this program. Her written communications were exceptional, and she was very receptive to ideas and incorporated them into her work. I'm certain that she will be successful.
I had to pull teeth to get the student to complete his steps. His teacher, Nick Moore, was not very helpful in this respect.

Would you consider mentoring new students in the future?

Why or why not.
I love working within the Telementor.org program
I have recently added graduate school to my schedule, so this is something I'm going to have to put on hiatus until I am finished with course work.
It's an amazing feeling to know that you could possibly make a lasting impact on someone's life. And I love helping people and that's enough for me.
Yes, of course! This is a relatively easy way to contribute, and I have experience with helping my own kids think about college, so I'm very interested in helping others do the same.

The most rewarding aspect of participating.
Student progress. A better understanding of next steps. A good prep project for college
Bri. She's a wonderful kid and very easy to work with. I enjoyed her excitement at what she wa learning.
Making an impact on the life of someone else.
Trying to get Justine to look just a little farther afield in terms of where to go to college. I don't know that she'll consider other schools, but at least she can think about it.
Having the student transfer into Joan Turek's class - she helped to get the student moving.

The most difficult aspect of participating.
It was not difficult
There were no difficult parts, if I could make a suggestion, it would be to update the website and make it more user friendly.
I had some personal health issues toward the end of the project (diagnosed with melanoma) that occupied my time, but was able to eventually catch up.
I never did see the final project for this student. And he did not do well with follow through despite his teacher checking in. The thank you notes to the interviewees were way late, and that damages the telementor's credibility with the professionals that were asked to participate. When outside people are involved, teachers NEED to see that acknowledgements by the students are timely. This is a critical work competency and it is general courtesy.
